I have been following Tré since the early days of her wonderful tumblr, The White Elephant in the Room. Now that her book has been published, I thought it would be fun to host a tumblr-centric reading/book club with the author herself. I’ve been in touch with Tré and ~~we are trying to finalize a date~~ we are set for Monday, August 5th!

It’s a great chance to meet other NYC tumblrs and eat, drink, laugh (and cry) together. Reply or message me if you are interested in attending.

Dinner: M made shrimp and blue cheese grits with balsamic onions and Andouille sausage. Not the most photogenic meal, but damn it was delicious. This recipe is based on a dish from Tiburon Grille in Atlanta where I put in some serious time as a waitress and hostess. We don’t vary much from the original recipe and it has been a standard in our household for many years.
